Cecil's Life Drawing
It's Life Drawing; but not as we know it.
This class asks you to be mindful and present.
It’s both challenging and freeing if you are open to it.

Cecil's Life Drawing
What if life drawing could be different? What if you weren’t asked to copy the human form academically or worry about getting the proportions exactly right.
In this workshop, we often work at speed so the analytical mind doesn’t have a chance to hinder us with its preconceptions.
We work from a place of mindfulness, paying attention to the instruments, mark-making, rhythms, and masculine and feminine energies. It’s challenging for sure – but it can also be very liberating.
This workshop is based on the teachings of British artist Cecil Collins whose methods focus on creative spontaneity and free expression encouraging students to connect with the energy of the subject in a non-analytical way. It is not about copying the form (life model) but connecting with the energy of it.
No experience is needed, the greener you are the better for you.
The sessions are not successive, you can start at any point.
